Seismic Probabilistic Risk Assessment (PRA)

SGH engineers perform Seismic Probabilistic Risk Assessments (SPRAs) for operating nuclear power plants the U.S., Asia and in Europe. The SPRA has become the standard method to quantify the seismic risk of a facility and is increasingly used within the nuclear power industry and the U.S. Department of Energy. SGH engineers have been key developers of the SPRA methodology. SGH engineers have written an extensive number of technical papers on this topic, developed training courses on SPRA and participated in the engineering standards organizations that developed the Standards for seismic risk.
