Michael Moser Earns Board-Certified Port Engineer Designation

Michael Moser, Senior Consulting Engineer at Simpson Gumpertz & Heger (SGH), has earned the Board-Certified Port Engineer (BC.PE) designation from the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Academy of Coasts, Oceans, Ports & Navigation Engineers (ACOPNE) and Civil Engineering Certification Inc. (CEC). The BC.PE is the highest post-license certification offered in port engineering and recognizes professionals who have demonstrated advanced expertise, experience, education, and mastery of a specialized body of knowledge in port engineering.
Based in Portland, ME, Mike specializes in planning, inspecting, analyzing, designing, rehabilitating, and providing construction administration services for waterfront facilities and port infrastructure. His career has focused on marine and coastal structures across the full lifecycle of waterfront assets—from concept and feasibility studies through permitting, design, construction, condition assessment, and structural analysis. He has supported projects throughout the United States and overseas for clients including the U.S. Navy, U.S. Coast Guard, universities, port authorities, industrial operators, and municipal agencies.
Mike also holds certifications as an ADCI Surface-Supplied Air Diving Supervisor and FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot. Active in the profession, he is a member of ASCE’s Coasts, Oceans, Ports & Rivers Institute and Structural Engineers of New Hampshire, as well as the American Concrete Institute’s New England Chapter and the International Propeller Club’s Portsmouth Chapter.
“I decided to pursue the BC.PE as a way to build confidence with prospective clients and demonstrate the specialized expertise I have with port and marine infrastructure,” Mike said.
