Working with the Commonwealth’s Joint Evaluation Team, SGH evaluated the condition of ramps at the Bowker Interchange, a fixed bridge and a drawbridge at Craigie Dam, the Boston University (BU) Bridge, Longfellow Bridge, River Street Bridge, Storrow Drive Tunnel, Berkeley Street Underpass, Reid Overpass, and Eliot Bridge.
For several of these assets, we prepared a report that summarized the condition of the structure, necessary interim repairs, and anticipated major repair needs. With that information, we presented assumptions pertinent to developing a schematic, staged construction plan for the future rehabilitation of each asset while maintaining necessary traffic capacities. In order to develop these construction plans, SGH evaluated the urgency of repairs, asset usage, traffic patterns, options for phased-construction methods, impacts of lane closures, and work schedules.
SGH helped prioritize the projects, which allowed our client to manage risks and to prepare an optimal Basin-wide sequencing program, which the Commonwealth used to plan for the rehabilitation of these critical assets.
