Academy of Geo-Professionals Names Justin Dominguez a Board-Certified Geotechnical Engineer

Simpson Gumpertz & Heger (SGH) Senior Project Manager Justin Dominguez has earned the Board-Certified Geotechnical Engineer (BC.GE) designation from the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Academy of Geo-Professionals and Civil Engineering Certification Inc. (CEC). BC.GE is the highest post-license certification in the geotechnical engineering profession, given to professionals who demonstrate specialized expertise, strong professional ethics, and a commitment to lifelong learning and continuing professional development. This achievement represents Justin’s commitment to advancing the profession, staying current with the latest technical developments, and working with clients to solve their geotechnical challenges alongside his SGH colleagues.
Justin is a geotechnical engineer with significant experience exploring, designing, and overseeing construction of shallow and deep foundations, excavation support systems, retaining walls, bulkheads, seawalls, piers, levees, floodwalls, and dams for a variety of clients, including private developers, engineering firms, state and local government agencies, and energy utilities. He specializes in investigating structures that have performed poorly during or after construction. He has a deep understanding of soil mechanics honed from years of experience on jobsites, in the lab, and in the office, and provides practical solutions to complex engineering problems. He stays actively involved in the geotechnical engineering community through his participation in the American Society of Civil Engineers, the Boston Society of Civil Engineers Section, and ASTM International’s Committee D18 on Soil and Rock.
Justin joins his colleagues Zachary Boswell, Bryan Strohman, and Scott DiFiore as fellow BC.GE recipients, helping to advance SGH’s expertise in geotechnical engineering to help solve complex subsurface challenges for our clients.
