Why Are Museum Projects Challenging?

Why are museums so difficult? There are many potential answers, but from a building science perspective it is because of their specialized interior environment. A museum is generally conditioned for the purpose of preservation of artwork – most importantly to provide stable heat and humidity in the museum space. The second you hear “humidification,” however, you need to start thinking differently and apply a team approach to achieve the right conditions.
