Evolution of ACI 562 Code – Part 10
The December 2016 issue of Concrete International magazine includes an article co-authored by Gustavo Tumialan with Nestore Galati of Structural Technologies and Antonio Nanni of the University of Miami. The article, “Evolution of ACI 562 Code “ Part 10,” focuses on load testing of existing concrete structures. The authors discuss the rationale and objectives of in-situ load testing and describe methods for load testing in accordance with ACI 562. This article is part of a series produced by members of ACI Committee 562 – Evaluation, Repair, and Rehabilitation of Concrete Buildings. In the series, “Existing Concrete Structures “ Learning Lessons and Advancing Solutions,” committee members explain the rationale behind some of the changes in the ACI 562-16 Code as well as share example problems, ideas, concepts, and thoughts discussed in committee meetings.
