Joshua Greene brings diverse new experience to SGH’s Fire Engineering practice, specializing in assessing unique and challenging designs and employing performance-based approaches to provide clients with creative solutions that stand up to stringent code requirements. He has extensive experience in building and fire code consulting, fire protection system design, smoke control analyses, and system commissioning and construction administration services. Joshua’s recent project focus and research efforts have explored the importance of Building Information Modeling (BIM) in fire protection design and code consulting. He focuses on how this approach can encourage greater collaboration between fire engineers and architects, especially early in the project life cycle, to benefit clients by allowing the greatest flexibility in design and execution strategy. He also helps develop unique and innovative solutions to code or design compliance issues that occur at the end of projects, when the design cannot be as easily altered. Joshua currently serves as the chair of the Building Systems Technical Committee for NFPA 5000, as well as the chair for two task groups for the Society of Fire Protection Engineers.
