Jason S. Der Ananian joined Simpson Gumpertz & Heger Inc. (SGH) in 2001 and specializes in building-enclosure design and building science. His design practices are based on sound understanding of building materials, systems and components, energy considerations for the building enclosure, and building mechanical systems. He is an experienced investigator of building-enclosure failures and designs of remedial repairs for art storage facilities, natatoriums, condominiums, and university and secondary school facilities. Jason has published papers on topics including window flashing, evaluating building energy efficiency using whole-building simulation tools, compact-asphalt-shingle roof systems, air barrier testing, and aquatic facility design. He is a member of ASHRAE 90.1 (Energy Standard for Buildings Except Low-Rise Residential Buildings) and has lectured at national conferences.
