SWR Institute Names Megan Toumanios a NextGen Leader

The Sealant, Waterproofing & Restoration Institute (SWR Institute) recently recognized Simpson Gumpertz & Heger (SGH) Senior Project Manager Megan Toumanios as a NextGen Leader. This honor highlights emerging professionals under the age of forty who have demonstrated exceptional technical expertise, leadership, and commitment to advancing the sealant, waterproofing, and restoration industry. Megan accepted the award at the SWR Institute Fall Technical Meeting in Boston, MA, on 7 October 2025, where she also served as emcee for the event.

Megan is an active SWR Institute member and participates in many of the organization’s activities. Her recognition as a NextGen Leader underscores her ongoing dedication to professional excellence and her active role in shaping the future of the sealant, waterproofing, and restoration industry. Based in SGH’s Washington, DC, office, Megan is a member of the firm’s Building Technology group and consults on building enclosure design, rehabilitation, and investigation projects for owners, architects, and general contractors. She has contributed to projects across Washington, DC; Maryland; Pennsylvania; and Virginia, providing design consultation, construction administration, field investigation, and rehabilitation services.

“Megan represents the next generation of technical leaders driving innovation in our industry,” said Jeffrey Kerr, Senior Principal and Building Technology Division Head in SGH’s Washington, DC, office. “Her ability to pair sound engineering judgment with a deep understanding of building enclosure performance makes her a trusted collaborator and a deserving recipient of this honor.”

SGH was proud to support the Fall Technical Meeting, with several team members contributing to the program. Justin DeWolfe presented “Refurbishing an Oakland Icon” alongside Frank Zhong of Dow Silicones, and Robert Gunter, Candace Atchinson, and Cedric White also represented SGH throughout the meeting.
