Paul Schuman is a member of SGH’s structural engineering group. He has participated on projects involving investigation of structural systems and development of alternatives for design of structures of all types including steel framed, reinforced concrete, timber, and masonry structures. His expertise is in concrete and shear failure analysis, and the design and analysis of structural systems using finite element methods. He has extensively researched and designed rehabilitation measures for reinforced concrete and masonry using externally bonded fiber-reinforced polymers (FRP). For both new design and rehabilitation projects, he is involved in preparing design specifications and construction drawings and is on site during construction to confirm that as-built construction meets design intent.
