John Thomsen



Dr. Thomsen joined SGH in 1999 and has over twenty years of experience as a structural design engineer.  His structural design experience encompasses a wide variety of building types, including healthcare, higher education, industrial, and residential buildings.  His notable recent projects include Simmons Hall at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Cambridge, MA; Student Commons Building at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT; Nemours Children's Hospital in Orlando, FL; Maine Medical Center in Portland, ME; SouthCoast Cancer Center in Fairhaven, MA; and Swedish American Hospital in Rockford, IL.  He is a member of a number of professional organizations, including the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), the American Concrete Institute (ACI), the Structural Engineers Association of Massachusetts (SEAMass), and the Boston Society of Architect’s Health Care Committee.
