David McCormick has practiced structural engineering for the past thirty-five years. He has helped many clients with a wide range of facilities (commercial, biotech, water and wastewater, wineries, etc.) to evaluate and mitigate their seismic risks. He has investigated the effects of earthquakes on structures and nonstructural elements in many past earthquakes including Chile (1985, 2010), Loma Prieta (1989), Northridge (1994), Mexicali (2010), and Napa (2014). He has also participated in investigations and repairs of deteriorated concrete structures. He has been actively involved in building code development. He has twice served as the Existing Buildings Committee Chair for both SEAOC and SEAONC. He is a certified Cal EMA Safety Assessment Program Trainer.
