Abstract: Everyone knows that substrate conditions and preparation are the keys to successful coating installations. When it comes to floor coatings on concrete slabs, moisture is always at the top of the concerns to be evaluated and addressed as necessary. However, sometimes the failure to look below the surface and consider how the floor coating system will interact with the substrate and ambient conditions over time can lead to a failure caused by the very conditions that the project team worked hard to address.
