ABOUT THE EVENT
For complex building enclosures, many questions can arise during the design process about system performance, constructability, safety, aesthetics, and other factors. In most cases, a construction mockup can help project teams see a design prototype up close to make informed decisions before construction begins. However, there are various approaches for implementing preconstruction mockups and in-field performance testing during a new building construction project. In this webinar, we will discuss and present several case studies that identify types of mockups. We will also explore strategies for using mockups to coordinate between trades, evaluate constructability, and test to confirm that systems meet specified performance requirements.
After attending this webinar, participants will be able to:

Christopher N. Grey, P.E. | Senior Project Manager
Christopher Grey is a member of Simpson Gumpertz & Heger’s Building Technology group in Boston. He is experienced in investigating, rehabilitating, and designing building enclosure systems on a range of building types, from historic to contemporary high-rise. He specializes in the design, integration, construction administration, and testing of complex building enclosure systems, including unitized curtain wall systems, prefabricated wall assembles, waterproofing, air and water barriers, roofing, rain screen cladding, and other glazing systems. With a focus on design efficiency, constructability, and performance, he works directly with architects, owners, contractors, and manufacturers in both the field and office through all project phases. He assists with managing SGH's internal small unmanned aircraft systems (sUAS) and drone operations group, and is a certified sUAS Level I Thermographer. He is also a contributing member of the American Architectural Manufacturer’s Association, serving on several industry standard task groups.
