ABOUT THE EVENT
Building energy code requirements are generally developed for new construction, then applied to existing buildings when those structures are rehabilitated or altered, or if they undergo a change in occupancy or use. Often in these cases, the quantity of alterations or type of building enclosure work being performed will dictate which provisions of the energy code apply and which can be ignored. Determining which provisions apply to a particular project can be difficult, however, and result in project delays if not applied and documented properly. In this webinar, we will address how to apply the energy code to building enclosure work on existing buildings.
After attending this webinar, participants will be able to:
- Identify which provisions of the energy code apply to different types of building enclosure work for existing buildings.
- Describe the methods used to determine the energy performance data required by the energy code for different building enclosure systems.
- Identify building enclosure systems that must meet current energy code provisions.
- Compare different approaches to meeting current energy code requirements for building enclosure systems on existing buildings.
