Metals

We base our metals expertise on our knowledge of in-service behavior characteristics and ability to develop design criteria that address future performance.  We evaluate how corrosion, wear, and cracking of specific metals impact reliability and service life.  We also analyze and test assembly joining methods including bolting, soldering, and welding.  Whether we are developing design criteria or leading a forensic investigation, our evaluation of metallic components and systems often requires us to include other SGH supporting capabilities including field testing, laboratory testing, and computational analyses.  Specific capabilities for metals in the SGH laboratory include mechanical testing, metallurgical evaluation, and failure analysis.
