Mount Sinai School of Medicine planned to install DNA sequencers, which are extremely sensitive to vibration, in two rooms of their medical school.  The mechanical engineer, Vanderweil Engineers, contacted SGH to evaluate the vibration characteristics of the floor structure in these two rooms with consideration of two large ASRTOS machines that would be installed in these rooms after our vibration testing.  SGH worked with Mount Sinai personnel to approximate the mass of the ASRTOS and the DNA sequencers using steel plates.  We performed vibration testing and determined that the existing floor structure was adequately stiff.
