The name of the 2,000 sq ft residence comes from the 18 planes, 36 points, and 54 lines that make up the geometry of the structure.  SGH provided design-phase building enclosure consulting for the new home that is clad with bronzed stainless steel surrounding large glass panels.  The home features a climate-controlled interior environment designed to maintain the relative humidity conditions necessary to protect the homeowners' art collection.  We performed hygrothermal modeling and heat flow modeling and developed thermal and air barrier details to prevent condensation and heat loss given the challenging combination of conditioned interior space and cold climate.  We also provided recommendations for the building enclosure construction, which included creative detailing to address the complex transitions of the building facade.
