SGH WORKSHOP: Avoiding Problems with Floor Finishes on Concrete Slabs
Join Simpson Gumpertz & Heger for a presentation and hands-on demonstration of effective strategies for avoiding problems with floor finishes on concrete slabs.

Moisture and alkalinity in concrete slabs can lead to a multitude of flooring failures. Recent changes in the composition of concrete slabs, the formulation of floor finishes and adhesives, and industry-wide construction practices have made floor systems more susceptible to deterioration.
Emily Hopps, SGH’s flooring practice leader will discuss the industry changes; strategies for design and construction phases; and recommendations for mitigating high moisture and alkalinity levels in concrete floor slabs. Demonstrations of current industry tests and critical physical properties of concrete and floor finishes will follow the lecture.
Participants will earn 1 AIA Continuing Education Hour (HSW) for their attendance.
