Led by a team of experts in structural and building enclosure preservation and rehabilitation, this day-long symposium of six sessions is offered as support for professional development to architects, engineers, contractors, managers, and owners. The symposium is designed to equip attendees with new awareness, knowledge, and understanding of the state-of-the-art methods of assessment, treatment, and enhancement of culturally significant buildings.
Attendees can expect to learn about the latest techniques for documenting, analyzing, testing, and modeling to help assess the past and future performance of iconic structures. They will also hear "lessons learned" from specific case studies in wood, masonry, and concrete rehabilitation, as well as examples of computerized heat and moisture migration simulation of the behavior of building materials and systems. Attendees can receive up to six AIA CEUs, all of which are HSW.
