Calleguas Municipal Water District

Calleguas Municipal Water District experienced a failure in 140 feet of steel liners within a 78-inch diameter PCCP water main, resulting in local flooding and loss of service. The water district immediately replaced the failed sections and reinforced the remaining liner sections, but was concerned for the safety of the repaired pipeline. SGH determined the safety of the repaired liner and recommend reinforcing schemes by performing nonlinear finite element analyses of the 3/8 inch welded steel liner and several reinforcing schemes.
