Construction Specifier magazine recently published an article written by several Simpson Gumpertz & Heger (SGH) staff members detailing quality control testing for fenestration products. In “Referencing and Specifying Fenestration Field-Testing,” SGH Building Technology staff members Evan Landis, Chrystal Chern, and Anthony Nicastro discuss testing programs for these types of products, which range from premanufactured window units to custom-built curtain wall systems. “A well-defined and executed quality control testing program for fenestration allows project teams to verify the performance of selected products and have reasonable confidence the installed work completed during ‘production mode’ meets project requirements,” the authors write.
