Abstract: Built circa 1895 and listed on the state and national registers of historic buildings, the First Virginia Volunteers Battalion Armory, also known as the Leigh Street Armory, is the oldest armory building standing in Virginia. Simpson Gumpertz & Heger Inc. performed a condition survey and reconciled as-built construction with original drawings, and then developed masonry stabilization and exterior envelope repair options for the City.
