Abstract: Repairing failed materials in building enclosures is often difficult and expensive. Take the example of walls, which require exterior access, removal of materials, and replacement of cladding. Below-grade, blindside waterproofing repair is another matter. Here, direct repair or replacement of failed systems is typically not possible quite literally, once a blindside waterproofing system has been installed, the entire building is constructed on top of it.
