Abstract: The Commonwealth of Massachusetts Dept. of Conservation (DCR) recently completed a program of structural and waterproofing repairs to the Storrow Drive Tunnel in Boston, which is intended to extend the service life of the tunnel by about five years. The project was successfully completed with minimal disruption to traffic on the parkways, and with minimal disturbance of residential, commercial and recreational activities in the surrounding neighborhoods and parkland. The success of the project can be attributed to careful planning, design and execution of the work, and was aided by all the project participants? adherence to an effective partnering strategy.
